Rev. Chuck Hoffman has been serving as pastor of ILC since August, 2014. He was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, USA. He became a Christian during his first year at Michigan State University and was baptized at Martin Luther Chapel in East Lansing, Michigan.
Pastor Chuck graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History in 2003. He then served with LC-MS World Mission in the special 2.5 year Volunteer Youth Ministry Program in Taiwan. He also taught the Bible Class for one semester at Concordia Middle School in Chia Yi, Taiwan, for a total of three years of service.
In 2007, Pastor Chuck began studying for pastoral ministry at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He was married to his wife Jean just before embarking on vicarage (pastoral internship) in the summer of 2009. He served his vicarage at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Milpitas, California.
In 2011, Pastor Chuck graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.). He was called to serve as pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Elko, Nevada.
Chuck and Jean are proud parents of twin daughters, Anneliese and Elsie.
